Today...
-Got up early to go to a particularly long chapel (for Wartburg Choir)
-Could not sing with the choir 'cause of my sickly throat
-Ate too many chips at lunch
-Managed to capture Bryan to practice my recital music but....
-Still couldn't sing
-and he told Rosemary I never tried to practice with him this week which was untrue
-Found out from the Doctor on campus that I have canker soars on the back of my throat
-Got yelled at for 30min about things that are not my fault and then-
-One of those really long choir rehearsals where time moves backwards
And now-
I have to study my music.
Because tomorrow I may or may not have to do my preview.

The Party's Over...
Well.
'Pal Joey' is over.
Sad day.
I mean, I'm glad the stress is done.
I really need the time in the evenings to do other things right now....
But I'm going to miss the show itself.
Vera was fun to play too. I got to be everything I had ever seen in a black and white movie. It was pretty amazing. I kept throwing in things I had seen Irene Dunn, Joan Crawford, or Rosalind Russel do...
I'm going to miss the costumes, and the people, and performing every night...
*sigh*
Post play depression, my friend.
It's rough being torn from the stage with your fingers still grasping at the proscenium.
Today was a pretty good day.
I went out with a bunch of my suities for Olive Garden, a movie, and Coldstone in celebration of my birthday (tomorrow!).
We saw 'He's just not that into you' which was pretty frickin' cute.
=D
It was kind of a mix of 'Love Actually' and 'When Harry Met Sally'.
Good stuff.
Really funny.
And painfully awkward at times.
Tonight I have rehearsal for KOB.
Which usually lifts my spirits, so we'll see how that goes.
Feelin' a little down right now.
Think it's the play being over.
It's Oscar night also!
So hopefully Hugh Jackman will lift my spirits as well. *grin*
He usually does a pretty good job of that.
One week to break my friends.
ONE WEEK.

The book keeping staff would like another shovel full of coal for the fire?
So today I spent 5hrs in the midi lab working on my Orchestration final.
And it was.....COLD!
I know we're trying to conserve energy this week and all but this is ridiculous!
I was sitting in there with my gloves on the whole time shivering!
It felt like Scrooge's counting house.
Everyone all huddled around with their little gloves, toiling away at soul sucking, meaningless work!
OH THE HUMANITY!!!!!!!
Anyway.
I'm still not done with the final.
I have to put in all the articulation and dynamics and stuff.
Which doesn't sound that bad until I look at my staffs and realize there is nowhere to PUT articulation and dynamics and stuff.
*sigh*
But that's a problem for another day.
Perhaps tomorrow, perhaps Tuesday.
Then I came back and did some Shakespeare homework for an hour before heading back to the FAC for Pal Joey sing through with the orchestra.
Aaaaand right after that it was up rm 213 for Knights on Broadway rehearsal.
Finally around 10:45pm I was back in my room.
Finished my King Lear homework.
And now I'm getting ready for bed.
I kind of like 'King Lear', not gonna lie.
I've never read it before now and I thought it was going to be boring, but it's actually really cool and funny! Normally the fools in these old plays are really lame.
Like, "I'm gonna tell an archaic joke and nobody will laugh! Yay!"
But the Fool in Lear is hilarious!
Also there are a lot of really funny little asides like when Edgar decides he has to disguise himself to stop his brother from murdering him and he gives a big speech about it before ending with this....
"What will hap more tonight, safe 'scape the King!
Lurk, lurk."
Seriously.
He just ended a speech by saying, "lurk, lurk."
LOL!
I laughed so hard when I read that.
I just imagine him going, "Bladdy blah!" all open chested up with his arms out and then crouching over and tip-toeing off stage going, 'lurk, lurk.'
HA!
It was great.
There's another part where the evil Cornwall plucks out Gloucester's eyes for helping the King escape to Dover.
Then he goes, "-thrust him out at the gates, and let him smell his way to Dover!"
HAHA!
Ooooh man.
Good stuff.
In any case, I'm off to bed now.

Moving towards a happy conclusion
Alright.
I've got a ton of stressful stuff happening in the next few weeks.
But the good thing is that I also have several happy things to carry me through.
And then it will be time for break.
Which is the happiest thing of them all.
*sigh*
rrrreeessssssssssttttt.
This weekend wasn't horrible like I thought it was gonna be.
I got flowers from Mom and Dad.
A lot of cards.
And some new really soft pajama pants from 'Old Navy'.
Next weekend I'll get to see Mom and Dad when they come for the musical.
And I'll get to go out for my birthday with my friends.
The next weekend I'm going to 'Legally Blonde' in Des Moines with Molly and Eric.
Then I'm auditioning at Quad City Music Guild for 'Seussical'.
Aaaannnd then, BREAK!!!!!!!!!
HUZZAH BREAK!!!!!
An existance that does not include homework!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*jumps up and down*
So...
No matter how craptastically insane everything gets in the next little while (a SURETY), I have things to look forward to.
I can begin the process of making it to the next goal post.
Just have to survive until the next happy thing.

Don't tell me not to fly, I've simply got to
So..
Play rehearsals are going well.
I'm memorized.
Other than Mary-Kate I'm the only one, so I'm feelin' pretty good about that.
Unfortunately, there's just a lot of negative commentary that goes on from the production staff.
I don't know.....
I know that we have to get notes in order to make the show better, and I absolutely don't mind getting notes.
Notes are helpful.
I love them.
What kind of gets me down though is when we don't get positive notes along with the critical ones.
It would be nice to hear something positive every once in a while.
I don't mean all the time, I don't mean that we should all be lathered with praise.
I just mean that maybe once a week or something, it wouldn't kill anyone to say, "Good job."
Not even once a week!
Just.........Ever would be nice.
*sigh*
Oh well.
I'll pick myself up tonight and be ready to go again tomorrow.

A pretty good day
Today was a pretty good day.
I think it had a lot to do with the weather.
It was relatively warm outside!
I left my window open and the warm air would come in from the outside bringing with it the scent of spring.
I don't know how to explain it, but it really does smell different outside when it's warm than it does when it's cold and snowy.
It's just....good.
I can smell the earth.
The rain.
*sigh*
good stuff.
The day started out questionably, my brain wasn't functioning in German and I couldn't really focus or think or....formulate sentences.
Then later came 'Shakespeare' which was actually pretty good today.
I'm pretty sure I did something wrong on the homework we turned in....But there's nothing I can do about it, so I'm not gonna let it bother me.
I did homework all afternoon with the lovely outside air wafting into my room and then went to choir.
Weston Noble decided to reseat the Alto 1s and now I'm in the middle!!
HUZZAH!
I really didn't enjoy being on the end.
Then I went to dinner in the Mensa and managed to assassinate my person for 'Assassin'! (choir has been playing).
Of course at rehearsal 15min later I was killed by Nikki....sad day.
We were rehearsing in Neumann tonight which was AWESOME!
We're finally in the space and can now get a sense of what we're actually doing blocking wise!
I wasn't really plugged in tonight (seems to be a theme today...),
but overall it went pretty well. I got all my lines without referring to my script and didn't screw up monumentally anywhere.
Dr. Earl did tell me that I needed to not freeze my part yet, but let it evolve a bit more at least until the end of this week.
I totally know what he meant, I was definately running on auto pilot tonight. There wasn't any sort of connection, I was just going through the motions. I didn't do it intentionally, that's just the way it happened.
But I'm going to do better tomorrow night.
If anything, it's going to be more organic because I don't know my lines as well!
After rehearsal I went to do Form and Analysis and we got it done SOOOO QUICKLY!!!
Normally our Monday night parties go till about 12:30am.
Tonight we got done at 10pm!!
10!!!
*sigh*
Good stuff.
Now I can get some more homework done before bed!

Restless
So I'm feeling really restless right now.
I've got stuff to do, it's just that every time I try and do something my brain completely ignores me.
So instead of blogging and being all 'bleh', I'm going to blog and be all, 'huzzah!'
Or try to be anyway.

So in the tradition of facebook, here's 25 things I should be happy about
1) The weather is getting warmer. HUZZAH! Goodbye giant puffy white coat, hello sensible clothing!
2) It might thunderstorm tomorrow night. I love thunderstorms!!
3)I get to go to Knights on Broadway rehearsal tonight.
4) I'm pretty much memorized for 'Pal Joey'. At least to the point where I know all my lines at different times. In any case, there will most assuredly be people who know their lines less well than I, thus taking the target off my back.
5) Grad school auditions are done! They both went really well too.
6) I think I know how I can solve a certain social problem that has been occuring.
7) My senior choir member 'activity planning group' is awesome! I even have an idea as to what we could do!
8) I have a new umbrella (thanks mom!). When it rains tomorrow I won't have to get wet!
9) Two weeks till Pal Joey's over
10) Two weeks till my birthday
11) Three weeks till Spring break (HOORAY FOR SPRING BREAK!!!!!!)
12) My next German test isn't on the same day as my next Shakespeare test (like the last ones were).
13) I got to see 'Inkheart' today and it was SOOO GOOD! I loved it. That's one I'm gonna have to own. Books are magical!
14) There is a distinct possibility that my next Form and Analysis assignment might be due on Thursday instead of Tuesday.
15) Because of my massive proactiveness on Friday, it seems that I will have time to watch some 'Rome' with Emily tonight. Speaking of which........

17) On the way back from Minnesota I wasn't pulled over for the left rear lamp being out on my car.
18) Umm.......This is getting hard. Which positively translates to: A challange! Yay!
19) I get to see 'Legally Blonde' in Des Moines on the 27th.
20) I'm almost done with 'Orchestration'! NO MORE FINALE!!
21) I've pretty much got a handle on my homework. For now.
22) I finally made my way to the Mall of America.
23) I just had spaghetti for dinner.
24) I'm getting an 'A' in Form and Analysis so far this semester
25) I don't have Pal Joey on the 22nd so I can celebrate my birthday with my friends.
Whew.
That was freaking hard.
25 is a lot.
Anyway....

2nd Wind?
I'm feeling pretty good about the world right now.
I've got things done that were crazy hard.
One grad audition is done.
Aaannndd it's almost the weekend.
On the other hand, I still have a TON of work to do, and another grad audition this Saturday.
There is no stopping right now.
Absolutely none.
I've got to keep pushing through.
The good part is that as I'm running along the road of life, the powers that be seem to have stopped throwing pebbles at me.
For the time being anyway.
And that makes it just a little bit easier.

A sad day for the Bard
I love Shakespeare.
Love him.
Love, love, love.
And I'm good at English.
Really freakin' good.
I'm a good student.
But my Shakespeare teacher?
Hates students.
Which makes it hard to get any sort of good grade in that class.

I just don't understand the way some people think.
Hopefully things'll change.
