Relationships aren't all that. And what do you get?

You've got so many reasons for not being with someone, but you haven't got one good reason for being alone...

You're not a kid anymore, I don't think you'll ever be a kid again kiddo.

Don't be afraid that it won't be perfect, the only thing to be afraid of really is that it just won't be.

It's much better living it than looking at it.

How do you know so much about it when you've never been there?

Make a wish-
Want something.
Want something.

Relationships aren't all that and what do you get?!

Someone to hold you too close,
Someone to hurt you too deep,
Someone to sit in your chair,
To ruin your sleep

Someone to need you too much,
Someone to know you too well,
Someone to pull you up short
And put you through hell.

Someone you have to let in,
Someone whose feelings you spare,
Someone who, like it or not,
Will want you to share
A little, a lot.

Someone to crowd you with love,
Someone to force you to care,
Someone to make you come through,
Who'll always be there,
As frightened as you
Of being alive,
Being alive,
Being alive,
Being alive.

Make a wish-
Want something.
Want something.

Somebody, hold me too close,
Somebody, hurt me too deep,
Somebody, sit in my chair
And ruin my sleep
And make me aware
Of being alive,
Being alive.

Somebody, need me too much,
Somebody, know me too well,
Somebody, pull me up short
And put me through hell
And give me support
For being alive,
Make me alive.

Make me confused!
Mock me with praise!
Let me be used!
Vary my days.

But alone is alone, not alive

Somebody, crowd me with love,
Somebody, force me to care,
Somebody, make me come through,
I'll always be there,
As frightened as you,
To help us survive
Being alive,
Being alive,
Being alive!

Have you ever had a song see inside your heart?

Dodging the bullet

I visited Northwestern yesterday.
Aaannnd.....
Hated it.
So yeah.
That's what visitations are for I guess.
I'm not gonna go into details (a few of you will hear stories of course!), but suffice it to say that I will not be finishing my application to Northwestern University.

Moving on.

I'm really excited to look at University of Minnesota and UNI.
That will all happen in January sometime, and I'm stoked!

Also on the list of things that make me stoked-
~Going Christmas shopping tomorrow with my brother
~Thanksgiving meal (because stuffing only comes round once a year)
~Broadway (yes. KOB does occupy a great deal of my thoughts. Still revising in my head as new things pop up!)
~Broadway (......a great deal of my thoughts.)
~That someone DIDN'T still my ipod two days ago when I thought they had. It had just discovered the most improbable place to hide in my brothers' truck. It's a ninja ipod. A ninjapod.
~Reading books (two down so far this break. I plan on getting at LEAST three more in before going back to school)
~Mafia night at Blakes' is fast approaching!!!!! HUZZAH!
~Sarah's new relationship development. =D
~A discovery I made in my broadway book that I can't wait to share with Rachel D! AMC connection? I think so!
~Broadway (...so maybe if we switch that other number we can drop that one over there and- huh? What? Was I saying something?)
~Spending time with mom and bugging Dad.
~Finally having the new furnace put in the house! Be gone space-heaters! I need you no more!
~Picking up the new 'Fables' tomorrow!
~Knowing that my Tivo carries on my good work at Wartburg in my absence. You tape those shows Tivo. Tape as you have never taped before.

Things that do NOT get me stoked
~My sore throat. I think my bedroom is making me sick. Again. And that makes me sad inside.
~My wittle nephew is horribly sick! Yucky. There is nothing more pitiful than an adorable kid all sick and sad.
~Mom and Dad are really tired. Yeah. They're a bundle of laughs right now. lol
~Wondering when the heck we're all going to get scripts for Pal Joey so we can start figuring out what the heck goes on in this musical.
~The prospect of CWW. Nuff said.
~My german dialogue. Maybe Jill and I can change our time. I really don't think this thing is going to get written over break. Especially not via e-mail. *sigh* It was a nice thought, but dillusional at best.

Sooooo anyway.
That is what goes on here.

By the time I return to the burg there will be an advent calendar on the Doctor Who website and the season will begin in ernest!
HUZZAH!

Cheers mates.

I'm wishing...

So, the play is now over.
We had a wonderful run, an amazing last night, and some rather silly respondants who couldn't get past the play itself.
Oh well.
They may see plays they like better, but good luck finding a better cast.

Strike lasted well into the wee hours of the morning, which was fun.
I like being with those people.
We had pizza and then it was over.
*sad*
Oh well.
All plays must come to an end.
It was great though.
I was really and truly proud of all of them, and the amazing show we put on.
HUZZAH!!!

DO THE VIETROCK!!!

I'm gonna miss it.
I'm gonna miss it a lot.
*sigh*

Today Sarah and Rachel D went to the Nerdfighter tour event in Ames, IA.

I couldn't go.
I had to go to recitals for recital credit.
It was WAY sad.
I watched part of the event live on blogtv and I could hear Sarah laughing!
All I could think was, "I want to be laughing!!!"
But I'll get to hear abou it.
And they're getting me an autograph copy of 'Paper Towns' and a t-shirt (unless something goes wrong!).
HOORAY JOHN GREEN!!!!
=D

Tonight I'll study for my German test and Emily and I are prolly gonna go get us some Chinese.
That's right.
I'm gonna eat chinese.
Sue me! Sue me! Shoot bullets through me! I love it!!!!!
=P

Cheers all!

Glory, glory what a helluva way to die!

Today we had our second performance of Vietrock.

It went very well.

Before the show we all met and went out to eat at Applebees (which was good times) and then we did the performance.

It's really amazing how much adults are being affected by this show.

I mean, our generation thinks it's cool, and we sort of get it.
But.....We don't really get it.
There's no way for us to.
Our friends were not all drafted into a war in high school.
We weren't hippies.
Our friends weren't hippies.
We weren't surrounded by protesters at school.

There's no way for us to really understand it.
We can only guess.
Approximate.

The adults keep saying things like, "oh my gosh. They're so realistic. They're exactly like what I remember.."

Tonight we even made a faculty member's wife cry.
She was crying after the show and said, "I just can't live through that again."

Holy crap.

We can't understand it.

But what a compliment.
What an amazing compliment.

I can only hope our KCATF respondants feel the same way.

After the show we all went to The Goat for some food, courtesy of Players.
It was a great time.
I love going out with theatre people because we don't have to be drunk to be a crazy good time.
We were outlaughing, outsinging, and outdancing everybody else at the bar.
And we didn't even have any alcohol.
We went to the dance floor (which was crowded) and danced so goofy and so well that we cleared it in a manner of minutes.
That's right.
We scared everyone else off the dance floor.
*Grin*
Then we did jazz squares and pirouettes.
Because we're those kind of people.
=D

It was amazing good fun.
I only wish I wasn't still wearing my stupid ugly glasses *curses scratched cornea*, and my comfy comforting sweatshirts *curses scratched cornea and ugly glasses*, and that my hair was revolting against me.
I would have liked to be a little hotter at the bar.
Oh well.
Ha.
Still had fun.
It wasn't about being hot, it was about being dorks.

As a matter of fact.....
Life is about being a dork.
Because being a dork means being happy and having fun when everybody else is trying to be 'cool'.

Cheers mates.

So you had a bad day....

Everybody's in a bad mood today.

And it really annoys me.

I'm just getting a lot of animosity from a whole bunch of people.

You know what?
If you're having a bad day.
Fine.
But don't take it out on other people.
ESPECIALLY if those people don't know you're having a bad day.

For example, today during promotions for Vietrock, a bunch of us saw a cast member who had not shown up and had not told anyone they weren't going to.

We ran across the campus mall and were all like, "HI!"
And the person said, "don't mess with me." and blew us off in an incredibly rude manner.

Don't expect the world to know that you're having a bad day.
Don't take it out on others.
That's what five year olds do because they don't know any better.
Be a grown up for gosh sakes.

I understand being upset and not wanting to talk to people, but when people approach you because they like you and care about you....Don't blow them off. They didn't do anything wrong.

*sigh*

Make an effort people. The world does not revolve around you. Don't expect it to.
It wouldn't kill you to say, "Hey...Sorry...Bad day. Bye guys."
In fact.
It might even make you feel better, and it would certainly help everyone else.

So to conclude-
Get over yourselves.
Grow up.
And treat others the way you want to be treated, because being nasty isn't going to make the day any better.

Cheers mates.

Umm.....Ouch.

My eyes are on fire.

It feels like someone poured battery acid on them.

Ow.

Stupid contacts.

I don't know what is wrong with them....But they keep injuring my wittle eyes.
And I love my eyes, I need my eyes, I'm very attatched to my eyes!

Soo....For now I will continue to wear my glasses (ugh), put searing antibiotic in my eyes, and turn away from bright lights while going "AGH!!"

Hopefully they'll get better.

Poor eyes.
*sigh*

In other news....Grad schools.
Good times, no?
Northwestern is making life difficult for me.
All I want to do is take some theatre classes!
Is that so hard to understand?!?!?!?!
Why is that impossible!? Don't people double major at Northwestern?!?!!
Ack.
They're making it really hard to figure out who to talk to, and what questions to ask, etc.
Maybe God is telling me Northwestern is not the place for me.
And maybe it's just hard.
I don't know.
I guess we'll find out when I visit.

Rosemary wants me to look at Minnesota again.
I don't know.....I just didn't like the way their theatre program was set up.
And plus, they're doing 'The Wiz' this year.
That means that 'A' they have a really strong african american performance base. Enough that they can cater an entire musical around them. (The Wiz is an all black musical for those who don't know)
And 'B', they don't have the greatest taste in musicals. (The Wiz is also, not very good...)
Yeah.
I know, I know....I'm a voice major. I should be basing my decision on the voice department.
But I'm also a theatre person. Through and through.
And I want to continue my theatre education in grad school.
So a school with a crap theatre program is not the school for me.
*sigh*
But I'll give it another look. For Rosemary.

UNI is starting to look better and better.....But I refuse to put all my eggs in that basket.

*sigh*

Decisions and eyes full of battery acid.

*walks off singing* 'that's life! That's what aaallll the people saaay......'

Passing Through

I've got so many things I'd rather focus on than class right now!

Classes are kind of incidental this week.

I go....But they're just a pit stop I have to make as I'm on my way to other destinations.

Silly classes.

They're in my way.

Also...You don't realize how much you use your printer until it's gone.

This 'surrogate' computer that I have until mine gets back from Geek Squad doesn't connect to my printer, and I keep wanting or needing to print stuff off but I can't!

...And it's really inconveniant to go to the library, so I end up just putting things off.

Ack.

....Must......start.........grad......app..lications.........argh.

In other news-
My Christmas tree is up!!!
And MY does it look pretty!
=D
I wuv my christmas tree.
It makes me warm and happy inside when I see it.
I also put cloves in oranges and hung them up around my room.
So now my room smells like Christmas too!!
It's so bleak and ugly and wet outside-
The tree and the oranges really lift my spirits.
*happy sigh*

The play is starting to heat up!
Two rehearsals until show time!!
HUZZAH!

I think it'll all come together alright.
And that's a good thing.

Anyways....
Gots to do my homework now.
*mumbleinconveniantmumble*

Cheers mates!

Let it snow!!

IT SNOWED!

IT SNOWED!!

IT SNOWED!!!!!!!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS SEASON EVERYONE!!!!

Nothing better than waking up to a lovely marshmellow world.

=D

Have a nice day everyone.

Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I'll test ya! Tomorrow! You're only a day away!!

Tomorrow is the GRE

It is also a German Vocab quiz

Also possible snow

Vietrock rehearsal

And heading home for the weekend (in the dark and the snow)...

The possibilities are, interesting.

I'm kind of excited for rehearsal though.
It's all starting to come together and it's REALLY cool!
Here we come KCATF!
I think that with two more 'cleaning' rehearsals this week, and then tech week under our belts we should be ready to rock this mother!

HUZZAH FOR THEATRE!!!!!!!!!

Cheers mates.

Anyways...

Grad school stuff.

It's a hassle.

Why do they make it so confusing?

*ack*

Anyway...

Tomorrow I take the GRE. I started reviewing yesterday, looking at the math portion and all (since I haven't had to do any since high school).
And I was sort of hoping that I would look at the materials and it would come back to me a little bit, and you know what?
It did!
I remembered it all!
I remembered how I DIDN'T GET IT IN HIGH SCHOOL and I DON'T GET IT NOW!!!!!
I look at the problems and go, "Oh! I remember this! This was the night I cried for two hours because I couldn't comprehend my math homework!"
Or "This type of problem! I spent three hours with my tutor going over ONE problem like this and STILL didn't get it!"

I hate math.
I hate it.
I hate it.
I hate it.
I
hate
it.

*Expletive*

I'm gonna do my best tomorrow, but I don't hold much hope for the math stuff.

ARGH!

Hmmm....

Well....

Obama is president.

I didn't vote for him, but I suppose it could be worse you know?

I'm cautiously optimistic.

Part of me wants to be all, "YAY! Hope and change and happy good 'Camelot' times comin' around!"

But the other part of me looks at all the issues that caused me to vote republican and then I go......um...I hope this doesn't turn out badly.

So, we'll see.

I want him to be what everybody thinks he is.
But it's gonna take some time before we know.

So until then...cautiously optimistic is what I shall be.

Emphasizing the 'cautious' part.

Cheers mates.

Bloggity blog blog...

Hi everyone!

Well....Today I have a lot of things to do.
But I'm procrastinating by blogging.
Yay me.

I have to call Northwestern and set up a campus visit.

I have to get to a printer somewhere on campus and print off Grad School applications.

Start filling OUT Grad School applications.

I have to write a paper on the movie 'The Chosen' for World Religions.

I have find and send out information to several cast members of Vietrock.

I have to do German homework.

I have to study for the GRE sometime.....ick.

Lots of little bueracratic things.
None of them too much fun.
Just a lot of busy work.

In social news...
It'll be interesting to see what happens in choir today.
See what Weston does.....
I can finally sing again so that will be fun. (I love Christmas music!!)

He was never mine to lose. So...I'm pretty much over it now. It's probably the best thing that could have happened.
I can't wait to see the guy God has picked out for me.
That's gonna be one interesting dude.
=D

May term play-ness might be happening....
We'll see what goes down when Mary-Kate meets with Dr. Earl.

I can't wait for Thanksgiving.
I get to see my Bruder and go shopping for the chitluns!

...OK.

I'm done procrastinating now.

Time to get to it!

Oh-

and-

Happy Christmas Season Everyone!!

Wartburg Track and Field!

Soooo....
AOL blogs just decided to delete all of their blogs without informing their bloggers first!
I went to check my blog the other day and was more than a little surprised to find a message that was all 'sorry! we're not doing blogs anymore. hope this isn't inconveniant!'

Well.....YES!

It IS inconveniant as a matter of fact!

...Silly AOL.

There goes three years of my life.

Oh well.

Moving on.

Hello Blogspot!
YOU won't betray me!
